I just got done taking 2 rusted out rims and making 1 good one by carefully welding good pieces from each rim together. I cut good sections out of one rim with a sawzall with a metal cutting blade then cut bad sections out of the other rim. I then welded (for the best weld rim has to be free of dirt and rust)some temporary metal guides on the rim and tacked all the spots till everything was lined up perfect and then stitch welded (to prevent distortion) it with a wire welder till it was completely welded up. I then ground the weld flat and polished it with a real fine grinding wheel and now you can't tell from new. It took a little time but it was worth it for the hard to find rims.
