I was rummaging thru a deceased farmer friends' out buildings yesterday when I uncovered a IH power unit. The engine is the typical in-line four cylinder EXACTLY like the engines in my '44 A and '44 B. Attached to the clutch housing is what appears to be a speed decreaser. The unit has a self contained radiator and fan assembly again very similar to the A and B. The bellhousing is quite short and the clutch is operated by a manual lever on the right side. The unit has an attached gas tank of approximately five gallons. The starter (which is missing) mounted to the front of the flywheel (unlike the A and B). The air breather is exceptionally tall and has a very fine screen mesh surronding the entire assembly. There are cast feet, two under the clutch housing and two under the radiator support. Provisions are also provided for a hand crank. The oil pan is flat bottomed and the block actually has a dip stick instead of the hi-lo oil cocks that I'm familiar with. The block serial number is MAM G and below that is 8822. The block casting date is 7*2*X. Okay folks, what is it,how was it used and when was it built.
