Dick, Ken Updike clewed me in on this. Take a 3/8" drill bit and drill two holes in the seal. The seal chamber is about an inch deep. Then you can use a chisel to pound in and start the seal out. Then I used slip pliers to grab and pull the rest of the seal out. That old double seal is one assembly. I had mine out in 10 minutes each. Be sure to install 2 seals per side and check the drum, where it slips into the seal, for smoothness. Cannot tell you why your M seals lasted only one year. Did you put in 2 per side?
