cub no spark

Cub wont start to save its life. Even pulling no go until you drag it 1/2 mile or more. Fresh gas fresh plugs. Good cables, new distributor cap. Put on spark tester (in line light that fashes when power goes through). Questions:
1. What are the proper modern plugs for a cub.
2. Assuming the plugs are OK would the tester be accurate for 6V.
3. How hard is it to find a coil and replace it if that is the problem. Thanks.
