I'm sitting her tapping my foot waiting for Allan, Hugh, Bob M and the other people who really know to chime in. The names of those parts are: 4 AUXILIARY CONTROL VALVE CENTERING SPRING 5 AUX. CONTROL VALVE CENTERING SPRING WASHER 6 AUX. CONTROL VALVE CENTERING SPRING SPACER 7 AUXILIARY CONTROL VALVE CENTERING SPRING LOCK Looks like you adjust that nut so the spring returns the valve to center, i.e., no fluid moving through either hose. All the parts are "retired", so don't do what I usually do in these situations and drop a little piece in the shop floor debris!

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution. And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
