The name of the game in snowplowing is narrow tires. It all relates to ground pressure. That's why the old Oshlosh and Walters used four tires instead of six. Only if you are using chains will the bigger tires be a benefit. Even then you will need some ballast to increase the ground pressure so the chains will bite.
