My manual has your carburetor listed, but it doesn't give the float setting. That screw that you are adjusting is for idle only. Turn CW to enrich and CCW to lean. Wasn't there a float gauge with the kit? It has the the 1-1/4 Updraft listed, but it's not shown or which tractor it was used on. The float setting for that is 1-5/16". Make sure your intake manifold is tight and the carburetor is snug, don't over tighten. Your float level is probably too low. These carburetors don't have the main jet adjusting screw that's used on the H Farmalls and up used to enrich the carburetors. If you have an inline fuel filter I would remove it since a lot of those are not for gravity fed engines. Hal
