F-12 parts from Farmall A?

Hello all,

I have a 1936 Farmall F-12 and a 1946 A I recently acquired. I have been told that the sleeves, pistons etc from a Farmall A are interchangeable. I did look up some tractor data and they are the same in Bore/stroke size, displacement, and RPMs.

Question #1: Is it possible to use Farmall A parts to repair this F-12 internally?
Question #2: Will a Farmall A/ Super A manifold work on an F-12? I would check that for myself but both tractors are missing the manifolds, and are currently several miles distant from each other.

Basically I am asking are these tractors sharing basically the same engine?
