I agree jim. I used a 14gauage (used for 10awg wire, general rule of them is fusible link is 4awg's smaller then the supply wire) fusible link, to fuse my alternator. Even tho my alternator can put out 105 amps, if it puts out 55amps or more (rating of 10awg wire), then there is a problem someplace in the system, ie a short).
I would still recommend the fuse holder for the lights. Ideally a fuse or fuseable link should be used whenever there is a wire gauage change in the system. This could result in a lot of fuses tho. Fusing the mains, and the light system should be fine. these tractors dont have many wires. Only other thing to fuse would be the coil, but thats a little bit too crazy, haha. I'm thinking about putting a horn on my tractor to use up that cig lighter hole =) I'll probly put that on the light system fuse.
My tractor has a semi steering wheel with a horn assembly, but there is no ideal way to transfer it to the dash because of the straight shaft design on the ateering. I havent looked at it really yet, it would be cool if I could have the horn be on the steering wheel. Even if it is on the dash, it should still be pretty cool.
