They are both good tractors, but I agree with other post the 666 and 686 are better in my opinion. They do have different engines that start much easier than the 656. The 656 uses glow plugs if they dont work the tractor is hard to start. The 656uses a D282 6 cylinder while the 666/686 used a D312 and later 686 used German built D310 engines. The 686 has a bigger hydraulic pump and start very well I have 666 that is as good all around tractor as I ever had.
