I have a 1963 (1st. year) 706 gas. Yes the motor needs to be overhauled often. I don't know why that is. Aside from that it is one of the best tractors ever built. With that fast reverse it makes a wonderful snow plowing tractor. Mine has over 6000hrs. on it. I overhauled the motor twice and replaced one brake seal. Not one other repair.
