Joe,
I've even seen the correct 2Ga. cables in stock at Wal-Mart. Just make sure the cables are at least 2Ga. wire so there is no "lost" voltage before the starter. You also might take this opportunity to remove the starter and clean the mating surfaces well and cover them with a thin coat of grease to keep the ground good for the starter. Lots of hard starting problems in 6V systems are caused by bad connections. Now is a good time to make sure all of the connections in the circuit are clean and bright and stay that way. Phil
