Good chance its either rusty or oily either one will cause that problem. If its rusty block the pedal down and start the engine and let it run for a while that will knock some of the rust off. Also slipping the clutch some will help. If its from oil pull the starter and spray the clutch off with brake cleaner, turn the engine over some as you spray so as to get all over the clutch
