I am rebuilding a C113 into a C123 using a TISCO kit. The end gaps per the IT manual are .010-.018 for all rings. I notice the new oil rings are 3 piece automotive style whereas the old oil ring was a single cast piece. The gaps I'm getting are TOP .014-.016, 2nd Compression .018-.022, and .028-.032 on the oil rings. Are these typical of a TISCO kit ? I am familiar with small block chevy's which allow up to .020 on the 2nd ring and .010-.055 on the oil rings. Does anyone have any experience with these end gaps ? or should I send them back and get another set ?
