Redmike - First thing I'd do is clean the breaker points. Draw a dollar bill thru them a few times, or dress them with a point file. Then hit them with a good, non-filming solvent (alcohol, acetone, etc) Finally check/reset the point gap to 0.013 - 0.015.

If that doesn't solve it, then suspect the coil is failing.

Incidentally "magento" sounds like some weird color women seem to like. And spark making thing on a tractor is spelled "magneto"(!)
