Hey Chris, I'd start with Jim's advice. Another thing to check on your PTO is how the screws are set for engaged/disengaged. There are two above the PTO unit. The front is your engaged setting. The rear screw is the PTO brake. If the engage screw is too tight the brake will fight it and you may get the noise you describe. Happened to me.
