I respect the opinions of others on this board and I don't think I know everything or have all the answers, but a Diesel is a different animal from a gasoline engine, and water in the wrong place can destroy connecting rods, cranks, bearings, etc. In addition, we all know a gasoline tractor engine (or very old car engine) will often fire with very low compression (my Super C, with a split compression ring, was still firing at idle), but a Diesel depends on compression to fire the charge, and I don't think it likely a once-frozen ring/cylinder wall is going to do the trick. So, even if you get it unstuck, it will likely miss on that cylinder until you rebuild. Just my opinion.
