Smd, SMDTA, 400D 450D, SWD6 and some others may be dist equipped. They do not need much in the way of advance, but the y do turn opposite. If in a pinch, a gas dist could be workable by locking the advance mechanism with a screw through the spring plates. Then timing it so it starts. (gap is .020") JimN
