Each cylinder does have two hoses.

It occurred to me that since only one hose has been connected at a time, that if air is trapped, it really has no place to go, so it wouldn"t work its way out.

I am going to try to get those other ports opened and barring that, just to move it, I"ll bleed the free hose and cycle the fluid a bit.
