Just read richard n.z.s article on starting cranks on H&M tractors. Both Richard and my Farmall Hs were sent to the UK on lease-lend within a few months of each other and both to Nottinghamshire here in the UK. Most of the H and M tractors sent to us were wide fronts and no electrics, just the starting crank wich was the long one. A lot of drivers stowed them down the side of the engine like Richard said. I usually just put mine on top of the transmission cover and drive with my left foot on it. Tommorow i am taking my H on a tractor ride in north Nottinghamshire allong with about 100 other vintage and classic tractors. The organisers allwas present a cup to the highest total of the ages of the tractor and driver and as my tractor is 62 years old and I am 64 that totals to 126 no the kind of prise you are looking forward to.
