like others have said, if you turn the key on for the tractor to the run position, hook one jumper cable to the ground of the tractor and the other to the input terminal of the starter it will be fine. DO NOT turn the key to start or the solenoid will turn on and backfeed the 12 volts to the battery which is not what u want. Should jump just fine, just dont leave it on too long.
