Definitely top dead center Milan. When my article gets posted you will see I had a tremendous amount of trouble on the valve clearances. I would not be concerned about turning it. When I FINALLY got the clearances correct this is what I did. I watched the exhaust then intake open and close. Then I used the hand crank and turned until the mark was on TDC for #1 and #4. Same procedure on #2 #3 but with the mark 180 degrees. I.E. straight down. I made several passes to be sure.
