Went to a plow day yesterday with my father near frederick md. Forgot to set the traction control lever when he started to plow, got about 10 feet when two of the bolts that hold the wheel hubs onto the axle stripped out. Oops. I looked up and saw he stopped and thought oh no what is it? Did the rear end go out??(its a 460) Oh no thats gonna be expensive! I get over there and its just two bolts. Thats no biggie. talk about a relief. So we cant find any replacement sized bolts in the truck, so we go over to a dealership conveniently ten minutes away, and they only have one of the bolts and its not the right size. Well we made it work anyway. Had to run back to the house to get some more tools that we decided we wouldnt need in the first place. Got back and IT STARTED TO SNOW!!! Finally got those little u pieces rethreaded and back on the tractor just in time to make the last 4 passes on the field. All in all I had fun, but what a day. Sometimes you just cant win with these old tractors. But I love em anyway!

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
