first thing is get a owners manual then either a I T manual or a blue Ribbion service manual for it . next do a complet service on the tractor take a good long look at the hyd. filter and see what it has hidden in it or what ya find layen in the cavity where the hyd. filter goes in . As for tacklen a T/A job as a novice this is not something that should be left to someone that has done more then one , not sayen that you could not do it and get by but knowen all the stuff that needs to be done and just how to go about it plus the stands, cherry picker and a couple special tools that make the job go easier along with the test gauges . it is realy hard to say yea this is the problem and this is what ya need to do with out personaly checking the tractor . Heck it could be just low on Hyd . oil or the MCV pump is going out to lunch then again the T/A could be out . i have bought and sold plus worked on more 706's then i can remember . My two best friends are running 706's that i sold them when they needed a tractor and were almost down and out one of them was a die hard deere man and today you could not get that tractor off him for love or money . If ya was close by here in N.E. Ohio i would be glad to take a llook at it and tell stright foward what it needs and what ya can get by with.
