Check the shift fork for the high / low range. We had a 706G for a while that started jumping out of high range, then just quit going into high range all together. What happened on ours was that the shift fork ends were wore down, and the small sliding gear eventually had the teeth worn off the front of it due to not being completely engaged. We replaced the fork, and it went into high a few times, but then it quit again. Instead of splitting the tractor to replace that little part, we sold it. Good tractor otherwise.
