Our 50 Chevy 1 ton feed truck had a foot starter...still have the truck, probably always will....dad bought it from my grandpa's(on mom's side) farm auction in 1972 and drove it home from near Omaha-which is a 5hr trip NOW, probably took at least 7hrs in that truck back then...top speed's probably 50 or so....mom remembers driving it to highschool occasionally back in the late 50's and she thought it was "old" then! I just a couple weeks ago bought a 50 Chevy dumptruck on the same 1ton chassis(might be a bit heavier chassis) as our old grain truck. Worked on it and got it running just this afternoon, and yep, it has the footpedal starter. Only have 25 bucks invested in it plus a few feet of wire to convert it to 12v, and it runs ok and the hoist for the dump box works to boot!
