Brett, The "50-some horsepower" is very possible since the 400 and 450 got up into this range with basically the same engine. Modifications to a plain M to get that much horsepower are not that big a deal - just install the later piston and sleeve set, turn up the governor, and readjust the carburetor. Most people in central Iowa where I grew up pulled 4-14 plows with an M. Steve
