I hate hearing those words "just junk it". They aren't making any more M's, even though there are a lot around, there are fewer every year. Whoever thought all the old Model T's would one day be scarace? Every head that goes to the junk yard is one more that cannot be used as-is or repaired. Many of these old heads are cracked, but they are just surface cracks. They are so thick the cracks do no harm. Machine shops don't have to be crooks to say they're no good. They are comparing the heads to what they see on light automobile heads. They just don't know there is nothing wrong with the heads. I'll bet $100 they did not do a pressure test and actually found a leak.
