I recently repaired a leak on the gas line of my 806 where the gas line entered the sediment bowl. My situation may have been the same as yours. My gas line is a 5/16" OD tube, and the sediment bowl is designed to receive a compression fitting that uses a brass gasket (ferrule). What I did was to replace my entire gas line with a steel line that I got from an auto parts store. It was 30" long and came with flanged ends on the tube and had brass threaded fittings (1/2-20 UNF straight thread, the same as in the sediment bowl) trapped between the two flanged ends. I cut off the flanged ends, then used 5/16 brass ferrules (also from the auto parts store) to seal the brass fitting to the sediment bowl. It worked perfectly. No leaks!
