IH 300 utility - leaky axle, weight??

I have an 1965 IH 300 utilty with a Lord loader and backhoe on it. (very tail heavy). Until I get some manuals I have two questions. Any ideas on what this thing weighs? Second, I parked it sideways on a hill for a couple of hours and came back to oil down the inside of the downhill rear tire. I assume this is not supposed to happen and that I have a bad seal. It does not leak when level. Is this a major problem to fix or do I just add oil? Thanks for the advice.
