Was the upgrade with the drilled holes a factory thing or was it just done in repair shops? I wonder why that was done, maybe for simple convenience?

Anyways, I think I will drain everything (all 5 plugs) and then put 2 pails of hytrans into the tranny part. Then see if it spills into the axle housings, and then go from there to top things up.
