thanks for the reply patrick. As I said, dad did this without my consultation, heh. I think it is a waste now, but if it survives it does, but if we can get some pffspring going, it will be uprooted, as it looks like crap now. What dad was thinking is beyond me. The linbs were definitely tall enough to reach out cable/tele, and power coming to the house, and to the neighbors depending which way it might have fallen. The remaining limbs were probably the shortest by far. Whether it would have fallen anytime soon is another debate. Dad will not be a fan of using roundup, even in small quanitites, because of the proximity to the well. He said he's going to try to use some sort of mixture of vegetable oil and murphys oil soap? As for it being normal, It kinda does look like stuff I've seen before onm trees. Being "normal" to me doesnt mean its harmless. I'd like more confirmation of this. Not that I dont trust you patrick, but if it is something harmful and not apparent from the pics, it could mean the death of the trees. Anyone have a more specific name for it so I can get dad some info on it to ease his mind.
