Red, FIRST of all, with a full fledged 4 terminal VR (BAT FLD LOAD ARM) instead of a 2 wire (BAT GEN) Cutout Relay, you DO NOT wire the gennys Field post up to the LHBD light switch. The light switch can still be used, of course, to operate the lights. Its just no longer used to regulate the gennys charge rate by wiring it to the gennys Field post. On a 4 terminal VR loads like lights and ignition are served/fed from the VR"s LOAD terminal instead of the Load (NOT battery/starter) side of the ammeter such as on a Cutout Relay or a 3 terminal (BAT ARM FLD) VR. If the BAT input terminal on lights or ignition switches are currently fed off the ammeters load terminal, remove that and instead wire the switchers BAT input terminals down to the LOAD terminal on a 4 terminal VR. NOTE the load side of the ammetr still is wired down to the BAT terminal on a VR, regardless if its a 3 or 4 terminal. BAT on VR to load side of ammeter FLD on VR to gennys Field post ARM/GEN on VR to gennys ARM post LOAD feeds hot battery voltage to lights and Ignition via the switches BAT input terminal(s) The lights n ignition would still work if fed off the ammeter and the VR will still work if the LOAD terminal isnt used...... buttttttt its best if wired as I described. Polarize the genny before you fire her up John T

Experimental Tractors Article - by Danny Bowes (Dsl). Tractor technology appears to have nearly hit it's pinnacle of development. If you agreed with the subtitle, you are rather mistaken. Quite, actually. As a matter of fact, some of the technology experimented with over 40 years ago makes today's tractor technology seem absolutely stale by comparison. Experimentation, from the most complex assembly to the most simple and mundane component, is as an integral a part of any farm tractor's development
