In Indianapolis there is a generator shop that specializes in the antique Delco Remy settups. I got the 12 volt generator and mounted voltage regulator for around $125 a few years back. Looks exactly like the 6 volt. Then I added a resistor into the coil line and used the existing 6 volt coil system. Works great. Cannot give you a car equivalent but I will be purchasing again in a couple of weeks. I will see how he cross references.
