Camshaft Plug

Thought I had it figured out, but nope. Got a "plug" from the IH man, not what I thought it was going to be. It's more like a freeze plug that I can see is already installed at the rear of the crankcase dirctly behind the camshaft. Is this what the manual is talking about? "Installing camshaft, be sure to intall plug in end of camshaft." There is a small opening on the end of the shaft. I thought this was something to close that. I now think that should be as it is, and a certain amount of oil flows out the camshaft back into the oilcase? So I don't need anything, do I? Or am I still lost, as usual?
