I think all you need is a ballast resistor to put between the (+) on the old coil and the "dead side of the switch terminal." This is if you have the alternator and voltage regulator, if needed, and know how to install it. The ballast resistor is made of ceramic, about 2-3 inches long, and has a "fuse-like" coiled contact inside it. It shouldn't be much, and you probably don't need a new coil if the old one is ok. RKS
