Keith, What you show are some of the parts for a McCormick A-177 (Runner) planter for a Farmall Super-A tractor, comparing your pictures to 1951 IH McCormick material. There is also a battery box top (with round rubber bumpers) for a Super-A, a row marker disc, some mounting hardware, and a gauge shoe attachment (lower right) for the planter. The planter mechanism itself is on top (or is that the bottom) of what appears to be a seed hopper. As others noted, there's also a pulley or PTO safety shield (lower center). The heavy metal frame is the planter toolbar. You also have to have the universal mounting frame (for cultivators etc.) on the tractor to mount & use the planter. The planter drive sprocket is missing from your picture. Chances are it is still on the tractor - inside center left rear wheel bull gear-housing (where a 4-bolt cap normally mounts). You should also have some drive chains for the sprockets. These planters had a bewildering number of attachments, fertilizer hoppers, seed plates, coulters and other accesories available for specific uses.
