OK, never paid any attention to it, and I have had those pieces completely disassembled and painted. That would come out pretty easy when hit from the inside. If you have power steering, on the right side of that unit, when viewed from the rear when installed is a dome held on by 4 bolts, Inside is a piston. The inside of the dome on mine was pitted by long term water in the fluid. I had a sleeve installed. You might check that, it is not hard to take apart. Leaks are prevented mainly by an o ring, but mine also uses a gasket that will probably have to be replaced. Since you have it off, you took the hyd lines loose from that dome, provided it has power steering.
