Need advice with leaking PTO on 47 H

Well here I am again asking for help.Have my H in shop replaceing a bearing on my belly mower. Went out this AM and now there is a 3'pool of oil under my PTO. Never leaked a drop before. While I have the belts off thought I should fix the leak. I have an operators manual but not any tech manuals.
#1 do I need to drain down my rearend oil?
#2 Had I better be ready to catch a bunch of oil when I take it apart?
#3 What all needs to come apart?
#4 Is the seal something an autoparts store should have?
#5 Is this one of those old style thick seals that can be replaced with 2 newer style thin seals?
#6 Am I getting as bad as Allen in Neb to be wrenching on something every week?
