I had some transmission issues that i decided to fix this spring. I replaced the third and fourth gear on the countershaft and the fourth and fith on the top shaft (both used) along with a new driveshaft. After i put it back together it had a whining sound. I thought that it might have been the driveshaft big gear rubbing against the countershaft gear. I shimmed it out and that didnt solve the problem. i was thinking maybe it was a bearing but if it didnt have this problem before it shouldnt know right? Could it be the new driveshaft not meshing with thecountershaft well. It should break in right? I checked it for play and it does have a little not really side to side like a bad bearing but a little slop in it. so what do you think? all opinions welcome thanks for your help James
