You can take the M from 248 CI to 264 CI with a rebore kit. 264 pistons are 4 inches across. Straight M is 3 and 7/8. You can go with the 264 kit and still use your old cam and carb. Measure your pistons to see if they are stock. Most old Ms have already had overbore pistons put in them. I have two, one with M&W pistons and one with IH Firecraters in it. Both have stock cams and carbs. As Jim said the 400 sleeves are as big as you can go.
