If Bob's ideas do not help. I would add that the shafts and pivot points need to be free and lightly lubed with a non runny grease, to allow full release of the band. The bottom adjuster is to keep the band lifted upwards to be free of dragging when released. Some new bands have been either too long, or too thick in the material, making them hard to get set for proper operation. Good luck, JimN
