As Randy said, if all is as it should be, there should be no oil from the transmission in the rear axle housing. There is an oil seal where the axle enters the transmission on the inside end. That seal probably is leaking. It's a pretty big job to do, as the axle and the housing must be removed to do it. To get the axle out, you have to go inside the transmission to take the inside end of the axle loose so you can slide it out of the bull gear. Some say this can be done through the PTO opening (after you remove the PTO assesmbly). However, I think this might be difficult to do on the C, as the opening after the PTO is off is not that big and getting the bull gear on the axle may be quite a chore. The only lube for the outside axle bearing is supposed to be the grease from the zerk. If the leak is not too bad, easier to just live with it.
