My '52 SM had no problem power-wise, even in fourth gear but it wasn't being used on hilly terrain. I had to renovate the hydraulics a bit to handle the tie and unload systems. Other than being slow and a and a bit rough to ride over the mole hills it worked OK. The biggest trick was learning to deal with the nonlive PTO handicap.
