How did you lose the belt the first time? If the mower hit something causing the belt to jump off chances are that that"s your problem. Belts have materials in them to limit their strech - many use kevlar or metal. When you hit sometning and the belt snaps tight it will break those bands. The belt looks as good as new but now when you try it, it runs for say 20 minutes and jumps off - you retighten - it runs 10 minutes and jumps off, etc. Your belt is no longer elastic (i.e., able to retain its shape) it"s now plastic (easily deformed). The only cure is a new belt. Had this conversation many times with my lovely bride - we now have an agreement, she keeps hitting stuff with the Cub and I keep buying and and putting on $35 belts. Works good, no more fights.
