Sorry Rick - those comments were for Dan. Dan, a short would cause the voltage to read zero as you say with the points "closed," since it would appear the same, right? Rick - my best guess is a break somewhere in the primary ignition circuit. It happened to me on my 1941 H. Coils are funny and what happended to you can be the coil, but it doesn't sound like even the goofy things the coil would do. They usually sputter at least a couple of "sputs." An interupted primary charge on the other hand is just like "switch off." The reason I haven't mentioned points and condenser which could cause your problem, is that they also don't usually behave with a "drop dead halt." If you'll find out if the coil will spark, we can find your problem. RKs
