It's a seal , but be warned that when ya remove the big square nut on top this is what sets your PTO engagement pressures and if ya don't have the PROPPER fitting to put a gauge on it to reset and get it wright you will either eat the clutch pac out of it or if ya get it to high then blow the snapring out of the clutch pac. PTO pressure where i like to set them on the 706-756 is wright about 245 lbs. this will insure that ya NEVER slip the clutch pac .
