I have a 1955 Farmall Cub (not a Lo-Boy) and it has the under-hood/under-slung exhaust. The exhaust when I bought the tractor exited out of a short pipe (which is part of the muffler) under the drive axle. On my Cub, I have replaced the muffler with a piece of pipe turned ground-ward and slightly pinched at the end of the tailpipe to quiet the exhaust note. I don't know if the muffler was "standard" or a "special attachment". Guy Fay might know.
