If you are a real newbie, by manuals NOW! Get the IH owners manual and read it, cover to cover, before doing anything else with your tractor.

Many newbies make at least one expensive mistake before they break down and buy manuals; don't be one of them!

Eventually, you will need at least the IT IH-8 shop manual. There are better manuals out there, but they are harder to come by.
