Water can get into the transmission around the shift lever, but it is more likely condensation. The gear oil in those tractors should be changed once a year or whatever the book says, but few people do. Farm stores will sell hyd fluid that meets Hytran specs, just read what it says on the can. You are not likely to find it at auto parts stores.
